Richard Treanor-Smith - What keeps you motivated at the GPA?

Video transcript

00:00:00.080 –> 00:00:04.720
What really keeps me motivated in my job every
day is knowing that we’re creating not just

00:00:04.720 –> 00:00:09.840
great places to work for civil servants,
but we’re also creating better futures

00:00:09.840 –> 00:00:14.880
for the communities in which our regional
hubs are located. Some examples of that

00:00:14.880 –> 00:00:20.400
are creating new jobs through our supply chain
when we’re actually constructing or refurbishing

00:00:20.400 –> 00:00:25.640
our government buildings. But also the social
value, we bring as well to those communities,

00:00:25.640 –> 00:00:33.120
you know creating opportunities for people to
maybe get on the first rung of the ladder by

00:00:33.120 –> 00:00:39.680
way of apprenticeships. And also the sustainable
factor as well as accelerating to net zero buildings, reducing the

00:00:39.680 –> 00:00:45.600
carbon footprint all of those things play into not
just my values but the broader values of the GPA.

00:00:45.600 –> 00:00:53.057
So that’s what keeps me motivated at the GPA not
just for today but hopefully for the future too.

00:00:00.160 –> 00:00:05.720
I really enjoy working at the GPA, because we
really try very hard to deliver the best customer

00:00:05.720 –> 00:00:11.600
service experience that we can to all of our
clients. We also encourage you to be innovative in

00:00:11.600 –> 00:00:16.800
the way how we think and deliver our services to
our clients, the way how we problem solve as well,

00:00:16.800 –> 00:00:21.520
a lot of ownership, a lot of empowerment to
make sure you arrive at the best possible

00:00:21.520 –> 00:00:25.960
solution which is customer focused. And
you’re also encouraged to grow and learn

00:00:25.960 –> 00:00:33.160
as well as a person and as a leader. Lots of
access to training but also lots of access to

00:00:33.160 –> 00:00:38.998
employee welfare and you know wellbeing programs
as well to make sure that you’re looked after too.
