We provide technology services in offices across the Government’s estate, including GPA government hubs. We design effective solutions to support our clients’ needs, now and in the future, whether this is new systems and products or implementing within existing environments.
We use property technology products to make better-informed, strategic decisions about how we manage, maintain and evolve our estate.
Interoperable technology
We provide services and facilities that enable cross-government collaboration while enhancing inclusivity, productivity and wellbeing for civil servants. These innovations support flexible working across locations and workspaces:
Shared IT network
At PropTech-managed properties we provide clients with a single shared network and a shared wired and wifi network, suitable for working at OFFICIAL. Standard basic internet access is via GovWifi or clients can choose to make use of the shared network to extend their enterprise networking to our hubs.
GovWifi
GovWifi is used by over 750,000 people across the UK, including civil servants, guests and visitors and it’s free to use. Individuals connect automatically to the network through GovWifi, with just a simple, one-time sign up.
GovPass
We provide a single universal access GovPass that allows the holder to access government buildings where they have permission to enter. We’re aiming to enable interoperability throughout the government estate so civil servants across teams and departments can more easily access the locations they need to, removing friction and boosting productivity in a secure way.
GovPrint
GovPrint, the shared print, copy and scan service for Government, allows civil servants to print securely at any enabled location using their building access pass.
AV equipment
We deliver interoperable audio visual equipment in all shared meeting rooms and some collaboration areas, enabling civil servants to use the system easily, regardless of the video conferencing software they use (Teams, Google Meet etc). Our AV equipment also supports hearing and visual impairments.
Meeting room booking and helpdesk support
We provide centralised space booking and robust helpdesk support for all of our products to ensure civil servants can book the spaces they need and get help should there be any issues.
Occupancy data
We can collect data that shows the number of people who have entered or exited the building each day. We’re now also looking at data on a departmental level, helping to make better strategic decisions about how we manage, maintain and evolve office space across the estate.
All data is anonymised to report on numbers only, and tracks occupancy levels across the building rather than attendance levels.
Rapid response IT solution
Feethams House in Darlington is home to five economic-facing departments, with up to 600 people working across more than 3,000 square metres of hybrid space. Due to the sensitive nature of the work these departments perform, it’s critical that we provide a secure environment across all digital platforms and physical spaces.
In rapid response to the need for a fully operational IT solution, we mobilised a DDaT (Digital, Data and Technology) team, who designed and delivered the full network with all equipment in place after just seven months, ahead of the phased inductions.
