Strategic property services

Our role

We deliver strategic property advice for departments who have not tranferred or are yet to transfer their assets, including location strategy, portfolio planning and assistance with the production of your Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP).

Your role

For us to be able to advise, we will require access to your business plans, strategic workforce plan and location strategies. Additionally, we require your SAMP, digital strategy and any relevant asset data.

Service level

Strategic advice will be produced within agreed project timelines and scope following your provision of data.

Workplace

Customer insight consultancy

Our role

We can offer a Customer Insight consultancy service to support government departments, public sector, public services and local government, to gather an in-depth understanding of the way their people work and the experiences individuals and teams have both in the workplace or in a remote location, and using this data and insight to inform plans and decision making.

Your role

To engage with this, it is necessary that you actively enquire about the process, engaging and committing to the consulting services. You must provide a purchase order (PO), as well as building and departmental details. Finally, you must test the survey link and feedback any amends to the survey.

Service level

A survey test link will be sent to you at least 14 days prior to the survey launch, for you to test. You must provide PO numbers pror to the survey data/report being released.

Business readiness consultancy

Our role

We can offer a business readiness consultancy service to support government departments, public sector, public services and local government preparing for and landing people-focused workplace moves.

The Business Readiness team guides and collaborates with you through pre-occupation stages. Services are bespoke, intergrating behaviour change management and employee-focused activities to provide a seamless experience and assured delivery of a great place to work.

Your role

Business Readiness provide different levels of support to workplace moves dependant on project size. Packages of support are bespoke so it is important you engage with the team in the first instance so they can gather your requirements.

Once a bespoke level of support is agreed, your department will have a leading role to land your move; your role will be made clear in the support plan put forward. A PO must be provided.

Service level

We will deliver agreed change management and employee-facing activities on time as agreed in the bespoke service offer developed with you at the outset.

Fire Risk Assessments (FRA)

This is aligned to the GPA Fire Safety Policy.

Our role

We provide a suitable and sufficient FRA via third party contractors. The FRA will ensure compliance as the Responsible Person under the Fire Safety Order. Where agreed as an additional service, we can provide an FRA at a rechargeable cost to you.

Your role

You provide any previous FRAs, PPMs or Compartmentation Surveys, as well as a Fire Strategy and Fire Safety Management Plans if available.

Service level

An annual FRA will be provided for high rise and sleeping accommodation. Other FRAs will be produced every three years, with an annual review. High-risk buildings will be reviewed every six months. FRA actions will be completed by identified timescales.

Capital Projects

Sustainability consultancy

Our role

We provide a performance, BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) and Net Zero design service in line with the Government Workplace Design Guide.

Your role

You provide previous utilities bills, maintenance schedules, Energy Management System (EMS) Performance data and information on any existing sustainability strategy or projects.

Service level

We produce strategic advice on the sustainable project delivery processes, as well as a sustainable project delivery audit service. Alongside this, we ensure a BREEAM credit delivery assessment, as well as assurance of Net Zero design and installation.

Sustainability training

Our role

We are an accredited training provider for Institute for Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP) certified training, which we deliver across government.

Your role

Funded staff must be able to meet the time and study commitments needed for the assessment.

Service level

We assist with the procuring of the following certifications:

  • ISEP Certified: Environmental Sustainability Skills for the Workforce
  • ISEP Certified: Environmental Sustainability Skills for Managers
  • ISEP Certified: Certificate in Environmental Management
  • ISEP Certified: Leading with Environmental Sustainability

Workplace design for major projects

Our role

We provide comprehensive workplace design for major projects, integrating design and management expertise to deliver high-quality, compliant, and user-centric workplace solutions.

The service encompasses the following key design and management components for major property projects:

  • Design consultation and data review: Includes design engagement with you to extract design requirements for the technical briefing of consultants and contractors in the delivery of projects, as well as review of relevant pre and post-occupancy datasets to inform good design.
  • Standard design services: Provision of foundational design work, delivered primarily through our approved third party framework suppliers.
  • Inclusive design consultancy: Expert advice and guidance to ensure all designs are accessible and meet the needs of all users, promoting an inclusive workplace environment in compliance with relevant standards.
  • Wayfinding signage consultancy: Development of a strategy and design for internal and external signage systems to ensure clear and intuitive navigation throughout the property for all occupants and visitors.
  • Furniture design and management services: consultation on furniture specification, layout planning, and procurement management, ensuring that all furnishings are fit-for-purpose, support the workplace strategy, and are managed through the project lifecycle.

The overall purpose is to manage the design elements of major projects, ensuring alignment with our standards, your requirements, and contemporary workplace best practices.

Your role

Actively engage in design consultations to clearly define project requirements and sign off on design specifications and proposals, including furniture layouts and wayfinding strategies.

Facilitate key engagement groups and provide all necessary information, such as an Equality Impact Assessment (EqIA), to inform technical briefing, inclusive design, and data review processes.

Service level

Design quality and compliance are maintained through adherence to our standards and your requirements, with all design components (including inclusive design, wayfinding, and furniture specifications) reviewed and approved at key project milestones.

Reporting on project progress, design assurance, and compliance (including EqIA outcomes) will be delivered as agreed, alongside the timely undertaking of risk assessments and accessibility audits to inform decision-making.
