Do not disturb zone
Do not disturb zone overview, set out in the workplace design guide
Do not disturb zones provide calm, controlled environments that support concentration, complex tasks and confidential activities. These spaces are designed to minimise distraction and offer greater control over lighting, acoustics and thermal comfort, to support a wide range of users.
The image to the left shows a do not disturb zone layout with typical furniture arrangements.
Do not disturb zone space types
Do not disturb workstation
Do not disturb workstations provide a quiet, highly focused desk environment for individual work. These workstations are designed for tasks that require sustained concentration, such as reading and detailed desk-based activity, and are located to minimise distraction.
Library bench
Library benches provide quiet, shared bench settings that support deep reading, thinking and individual focused work. They are designed to minimise distraction through a calm environment with natural finishes, integrated power and user-controlled lighting.
Individual work booth
Individual work booths provide quiet, enclosed work settings for tasks that require high levels of concentration or confidentiality. Located in low traffic areas within the do not disturb zone, they offer enhanced acoustic privacy for focused reading, thinking and independent work.
